Forest School - Week 6

8th Apr 2019

This week at forest school we were developing our early mathematical skills!

In small groups we had to find 4 long sticks, making sure they went from our elbow right down to our fingers! We then used measuring tapes / rulers to measure the length of the sticks, putting them in order of size, starting with the longest to the shortest. We recorded this on our clipboards.

After this we went around the forest to find different items, such as leaves, twigs, flowers, blades of grass and place them on the different numbers.

The children were very good at recognising the different numbers on the measuring tools and on the number mats!

The children did a fantastic job and they enjoyed working together in their groups.
