January in Nursery 1

31st Jan 2020

After a relaxing Christmas holiday, our boys and girls were so glad to get back to Nursery! We have been exploring the theme of winter. We experimented with making ice and watching it melt. The little birds that visit our Nursery garden were spoilt this month as we looked after them by making bird feeders for them. During outdoor play we discovered that our snowdrop bulbs that were planted in the autumn had flowered! We talked about the different types of winter weather through our music and movement. Unfortunately we weren’t lucky enough to get any real snow, so we had a snowball fight using Mrs Dalzell’s special snowballs!
We enjoyed learning about the animals that live in the arctic and how they survive in such cold conditions.

we had such fun celebrating Chinese New Year with our media initiate puppet Kim. We cooked some Chinese feats during play and danced to some Chinese music.

Enjoy looking at our photos of an extremely busy month in Nursery!
