Letter to Year Three Parents Term Three

19th Apr 2020

Friday 17th April 2020

Hello girls and boys,

We hope that you have all had a wonderful, safe Easter break at home and have spent sometime out in the garden or going for walks and cycles in your locality with your family.

Learning at home is a little bit different from learning in school, you don’t have your friends to talk to, or to play with and of course the best bit; you have no uniform to wear!  But the most important thing to remember is that you and your family are doing a great job learning from home and Ms Cooke, Mrs Galligan and Mrs McKernan are so proud of you.  Your mums, dads and (we are sure) even big brothers and sisters are doing their very best to help you on your new learning journey.  Please keep up the good work!

We are missing you all very much!

Ms Cooke, Mrs Galligan & Mrs McKernan

Dear Parents/Guardians,

The last number of weeks have been an extremely unique experience for everyone. We followed the direction of Mr Guthrie and sent home work to keep you going until Friday 3rd April.  Now, we as Year Three teachers will continue with teaching and learningvia ourschool website.

We have created a two weekly timetable as guidance; weekly spellings are presented so that you can decide which level best suits your child, and worksheets are available for you to print or to copy out onto a page if you do not have printer access.

Also enclosed is a guide as to what a Year Three child would cover within the area of Numeracy.

Both classes are now registered onto the Oxford Reading Tree website and this will enable your child to avail of an array of on-line books. Please open Oxford Reading Tree website, click on Teachers (top left hand corner), next, on the top bar you will see a pink oblong link saying ‘My class login’, click on this.

P3a login details are: username - fabp3a           password – books

Remember, Top marks is a good site to help with lots of Numeracy topics, as well as Literacy/Phonics activities.

A great website for the‘World Around Us’ which incorporates fabulous learning possibilities and more importantly, loads of fun, is – nature detectives woodland trust.  Check out the great ideas on ‘nature activities to do at home with your kids’.

We hope you find the timetable, worksheets, spellings, websites etc helpful and useful, but please contact us via email if you have any problems and we will do our best to guide and work with you during this unprecedented time.  Take care and stay safe.
