Our first Eco Schools meeting of 2025-26 school year
Eco schools class representatives were elected by each class (Years 3 -7) earlier in September. We had our first meeting on Wednesday 10th September and what a busy one it was! We began by harvesting our greenhouse produce which was delivered later in the day to Primary 1 and 2 pupils for their morning snack that week. Class representatives then got to taste the beautiful tomatoes and cucumbers.
After, we took a walk around the school grounds, taking note of what we could see that needs done. We noted the growth on the trees and how much biodiversity there was, amongst other items which need to be addressed.
We looked at the work in the meadow and the orchard, picked some apples and sampled them too. We plan to check out the bins in the playground and plant some acorns too as well as harvest the rest of the apples. Which will need to be done before the incoming storm gets to them first.
A wonderful group of eco conscious pupils! We are looking forward to working with them this year
