Sport at Ebrington Primary School
Sport plays a central role in the life of our school, encouraging teamwork, resilience, and healthy lifestyles among our pupils. We are proud to offer a wide range of sporting opportunities, both within the curriculum and through after-school clubs.
Football: A popular sport across all year groups, with regular coaching sessions focusing on skills, teamwork, and fair play. Our school teams also take part in local tournaments and friendly fixtures.
Cricket: Pupils enjoy cricket in the summer term, learning batting, bowling, and fielding techniques. Softball cricket is introduced at younger ages, building confidence before progressing to hardball formats.
Rugby: Non-contact tag rugby is played in younger years, moving towards contact rugby for older pupils. Emphasis is placed on teamwork, respect, and safe tackling.
Hockey: Both boys and girls take part in hockey, developing stick skills, passing, and movement. Matches and mini-festivals provide opportunities to test skills against other schools.
Netball: A key sport for many pupils, netball helps develop agility, coordination, and positional play. Our school teams regularly compete in local leagues and friendly matches.
Through these sporting disciplines, our pupils not only develop technical skills but also learn the values of teamwork, respect, and perseverance. Sport is seen as a vital part of school life, helping every child to find enjoyment.
